Mr Aleixo is currently serving as an expert in the Cabinet of Commissioner Ekaterina Zaharieva, where he is responsible, among other topics, for the European Research Area (ERA), European Research and Technology Infrastructures, Research security and dual use, Widening, the Competitiveness Council and the JRC. Prior to this, he was the Head of the European Research Area and Innovation unit in DG R&I.
